Cambridge Food and Garden Show

We went to Cambridge Food and Garden Show on Sunday, and apart from lovely cider, tasty ales, yummy frozen yoghurt and scrumptious sausages there were also some really cute animals. Below is a video of a couple of twin goats that were very busy eating flowers and cabbage with their mum, but occasionally also found time for a bit of fighting.

We also got to hold some tiny rabbits 🙂 They were only three weeks old and we couldn’t help considering sneaking one into my hood and walking off. Below are pictures of the rabbits, and some of the other animals at the show.

Sandwiches 2010-01-28

Granary Sandwich with
– Sliced Boiled Egg
– Roast Chicken
– Beef
– Pork
– Pastrami
– Pepperoni
– Stilton
– Mozzarella
– Sweetcorn
– Onion
– Basil
– Sun-Blushed Tomatoes
– Branston Pickle

*Phew* That was the last of them. I really have to remember to update these on the day, both to avoid having to do this much hard work to catch up, but also so I can better review them. Today’s sandwich was amazing, tasty and very moist and soft. I finished the last of it about 10 minutes ago, but I can still taste it (in a good way). I really missed the Stilton that I had left out for a long time, but it makes me realise its value and appreciate it more once I’ve been without.

Granary Sandwich with
– Sliced Boiled Egg
– Butter
– Poached Salmon
– Smoked Salmon
– Seafood Cocktail
– Crab Mayo
– Prawn Cocktail
– Mozzarella
– Cottage Cheese
– Basil
– Black Olives
– Lemon Mayo

This is by far the largest and probably also the most amazing of the seafood sandwiches so far. It was the first time a seafood sandwich has come in two boxes, and it even filled them out completely 😀 (Have you noticed how all the sandwiches lately have started with Sliced Boiled Egg? This is due to the fact that using the Egg sandwiches as base saves you 20 p $-) )

– Pork
– Pastrami

– Basil

Posting this many at once, makes it hard to write comments of them all. Especially as it’s hard to remember exactly what they were all like 😉

Granary Sandwich with
– Sliced Boiled Egg
– Beef
– Pastrami
– Pork
– Mozzarella
– Feta Cheese
– Lettuce
– Sweetcorn
– Onion
– Horseradish

Another “big” break from sandwiches. It’s been a couple of weeks of lots of work/stress, broken network and forgotten sandwich ordering (that is, forgetting to order). This one was a rather modest small one, with a premiere for the horseradish 🙂

After 5 days with no sandwiches (no custom ones, that is) I was HUNGRY! This monster of a sandwich made me full and happy. With 7 kinds of meat this is one of the bigger and heavier ones.

Delicious return to the long neglected seafood category. While they are never that big (just aren’t as many option, and they are much pricier), I’m getting pretty sure these are my favourites for the sheer tastiness. Happy to report that the Sun-Blushed Tomatoes in fact go very very well with the Salmon. I wasn’t sure if it would have been too powerful.

A very pretty and solid sandwich today. Large enough not only to get two boxes, but also to slick together. Helps that all or most of the ingredients are slice shaped as opposed to crumbly Stilton and Feta (especially combined with egg as well). Very tasty, one of the few Stilton free days and a happy return of the Branston Pickle.
